I am an experienced and qualified Counsellor who has been practising for 12 years. I am experienced in working with individuals, couples and also groups.
I have experience in working with a wide range of different issues that people face including:
Stress, Anxiety, depression, addictions, sexual problems, relationship issues, anger, abuse, low self esteem, OCD, post traumatic stress disorder, post natal depression, attachment disorders and many others.
Counselling is a talking therapy which enables people to explore their feelings and emotions. It helps enable greater awareness to be gained by bringing unconscious thoughts and feelings into the consciousness, therefore bringing greater understanding of a person’s inner self. It is through this process that potential for change comes.
I am a member of “The British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy” and abide by their code of ethics. As part of this I monitor my work by having ongoing regular supervision.
I am committed to finding the right way of working with people and use a variety of skills and tools for each individual. This can be discussed in an assessment session.
Qualifications include: Graduate Diploma in Person Centred Counselling, Diploma in Professional Studies, Certificate in Person Centred Art Therapy, Certificate in Creative Counselling, Certificate in Couple Counselling, Certificate in Group Work using Gestalt & Psychodrama, Certificate in working with the Inner Child.
All sessions are confidential between you and me except in exceptional circumstances, these may include issues of harm to self or others and where a serious criminal act is involved. I would always try to discuss this with you and give you the opportunity to disclose this first yourself.
